Primary and Lower School Students Hold Holiday PhilanthroParties to Benefit the St. Joseph Center

For the second year in a row, the Primary and Lower School students had “PhilanthroParties” in their classrooms to celebrate the holiday season.
Inspired by the book PhilanthroParties!: A Party-Planning Guide for Kids Who Want to Give Back by Lulu Cerone, the annual tradition of winter classroom parties has turned into, as Ms. Cerone calls them, “parties with a purpose.”
Students in grades K-5 decorated gift bags with drawings and positive messages, then stuffed the bags with gloves and mittens. The gloves and mittens were purchased with the money that was raised through Homecoming proceeds and fall wristband sales. The bags will be delivered to the St. Joseph Center in Venice, where they will be handed out to the homeless community and others in need. The students made hundreds of bags that will make a big difference in the lives of the recipients.

Why just have a party when you can have a PhilanthroParty?
