VSSA Parent Volunteers and Primary and Lower School Faculty Present Great Pumpkin Day 2024: A Spooktacular Celebration of Imagination and Innovation
Since 1964, Viewpoint’s students have celebrated Great Pumpkin Day and each year they eagerly anticipate this beloved Halloween tradition. On the morning of Thursday, October 31, students from the Primary and Lower Schools celebrated Great Pumpkin Day by wearing their costumes to school and enjoying a trick-or-treating adventure through Booothtacular, made possible by our dedicated VSSA parent volunteers.
Karpatian Courtyard was transformed into Halloween lane, featuring a booth for each grade, creatively and cleverly decorated. From Witches, I Scream, Monsters, Inc., and Mad Scientists, to the Sephorror House, Alice in Wonderland, and Candyland, each class visited the booths and received special treats. The pure joy on the faces of children and adults alike won’t soon be forgotten.
Following this new and exciting activity, students, parents, faculty, and staff gathered at the Paul Family Athletic Center (PFAC) to watch TK-5 students perform at the annual Great Pumpkin Day Assembly. Hosted by our Fifth Grade students, this year’s theme was “Law & Order SPU (Special Pumpkins Unit) and told an entertaining story of “Who Stole the Witches’ Brew Track?” Between scenes, Kindergarteners through Fourth Graders treated the audience to a selection of Halloween-themed tunes, including “Bitty Bitty Bat,” “Purple People Eater,” “Something Spooky,” “The Addams Family Theme,” “Zombie Style,” and “I Love Halloween.”
A spooktacular time was had by all at the School’s 60th annual Great Pumpkin Day event!
