Since 2012, Viewpoint’s Upper School Music Department has upheld a cherished tradition of participating in the WorldStrides Music Festival. This past weekend, our students continued that legacy with an outstanding showing at Disneyland, earning top recognition across all ensembles.

“This is just another example of the strength of our music program,” said Music Department Chair Kristin Herkstroeter. “These types of accomplishments highlight the depth of our department and the hard work of our students.”

This year, every ensemble received the highest rating, earning Gold across the board:

• Upper School Concert Choir – Gold
• Jazz Ensemble – Gold
• Upper School Orchestra – Gold and the Adjudicators Award
• Voices Now – Gold
• Wind Ensemble – Gold and the Adjudicators Award

In addition to the ensemble honors, five students were recognized with Maestro Awards for their exceptional solo performances:

• Chloe Brendle ’26 – vocal solo (Voices Now)
• Yiyi Chang ’28 – violin solo (Upper School Orchestra)
• Jasper Hughes ’27 – drum set solo (Jazz Ensemble)
• Jishnu Mukherjee ’26 – French horn solo (Wind Ensemble)
• Megan Shaw ’26 – vocal solo (Voices Now)
