With thunderous applause, standing ovations, and not an empty seat in the theater, Viewpoint School’s third annual production of VOSOVOS: Our Stories. Our Voices. Our Stage. captivated audiences on May 31 and June 1. The student-led showcase, now a beloved tradition, lit up the stage with raw honesty, heartfelt stories, and bold performances that echoed long after the final act.

The event, a collaboration between the Conservatory of Theatre and the Office of Community Life, provided a dynamic platform for students to explore their lived experiences through original scenes, monologues, and even a short musical. Under the guidance of Theatre Department Chair Scott Feldsher, guest artist Monica Hanush, and Chief Belonging and Community Officer Patricia Jackson, VOSOVOS once again delivered an unforgettable showcase of truth-telling and creativity.

“VOSOVOS holds a mirror up to our community, and what we see reflected back is always surprising and new and beautifully quirky. This year was no exception,” said Scott Feldsher, Theatre Department Chair. “But the one constant is the courage displayed on that stage. This year’s performances inspired us all to be more courageous in saying what needs to be said in our lives.”

“VOSOVOS was created to further amplify student voices by offering a platform where they could develop and share stories that are important to them with those who are willing to listen deeply, while teaching and inspiring,” added Jackson. “This dynamic production does just that–explores how their experiences of culture, whether familial, communal, or global, speak to core issues that students often face today.”

From comedic sketches to poignant reflections on mental health, cultural identity, and friendship, this year’s VOSOVOS offered a kaleidoscope of student voices, each piece rooted in personal truth. The energy in the room was palpable—audiences laughed, cried, and erupted into cheers as one powerful story after another unfolded.

As the lights came up at the end of Sunday’s show, one thing was clear: the voices of our students are not just being heard—they’re resonating, reverberating, and inspiring our community.
