Life-long Friends Madison Foxhoven ’23 and Madison Nadolenco ’23 Sign National Letter of Intent for a Collegiate Sport at Duke University and the University of Georgia

Congratulations to Madison Foxhoven ’23 and Madison Nadolenco ’23 who both signed a National Letter of Intent for a collegiate sport on November 9, National Signing Day. Madison Foxhoven will be playing soccer at Duke University, currently ranked seventh in the U.S., and Madison Nadolenco will compete as an equestrienne for the University of Georgia, which is ranked fifth in the nation. National Signing Day has traditionally been the first day that a high school senior can sign a binding National Letter of Intent for a collegiate sport with a school that is a member of the United States National Collegiate Athletic Association.

With their families, friends, coaches, teachers, and counselors in attendance, both Madison and Madison were excited to pick up their pens in the Paul Family Athletic Center to make their commitments to their respective schools. This was especially exciting as they have been friends since pre-school. Madison Nadolenco began at Viewpoint in Kindergarten and Madison Foxhoven joined her in Sixth Grade.

In their remarks, both Head of School Mark McKee and Travis Kikugawa, Director of College-bound Athletes, spoke of the persistence required to become an elite athlete and praised both young women and their families for their dedication to making their lofty dreams become a reality.

We could not be more proud of both of them and wish them every success on the field and in the arena!

Viewpoint Recognizes Nine Senior Athletes for their Peak Performance and Path to College Sports

Nine seniors were recognized on Tuesday, May 31, for their extraordinary athletic achievements while at Viewpoint, and their commitment to continue playing sports in college. Our college-bound athletes were joined by students, faculty, coaches, and their families at the Love of Learning Wall, as they received awards and ceremoniously “signed” to their respective schools. Mark McKee, Head of School, Patrick Moyal, Director of Athletics, and Rhody David, Director of College Counseling, each delivered congratulatory remarks and words of wisdom for these seniors.

“This day represents the culmination of perseverance and hard work on a journey that can only happen with the tremendous support of parents and coaches,” said Patrick Moyal, Director of Athletics.

We applaud these students for their passion and perseverance and wish them luck in their college athlete journey.

Kayla Keshmesian ’22 Signs National Letter of Intent to Play Basketball at Nicholls State

Congratulations to Kayla Keshmeshian ’22, who signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Nicholls State as part of the National Signing Period for the 2022-23 school year. Kayla, who plays point guard, has been at Viewpoint since Kindergarten and her teammates, classmates, faculty, and staff gathered around to celebrate this exceptional achievement for Kayla and a great moment for Viewpoint athletics.

Viewpoint's Girls Basketball Coach Will Burr could not speak more highly of Kayla. He said, “There are over 400,000 girls competing to play college basketball at any level, and only 1.3% of those girls receive a D1 scholarship. This wasn’t given to her, she earned it! Kayla is the hardest working player I have ever coached. I am beyond proud of her accomplishment.”

Kayla was humbled and delighted by the scholarship to play at Nicholls State, and she said, “I am grateful for my teammates, my coaches, and, of course, my family. My parents and my sister, Calista, have been my biggest supporters. I am so grateful for this opportunity and I love you all.”  Click here to read more about Kayla in the Summer 2021 issue of Viewpoint magazine.

This is an exciting time for Viewpoint’s Girls Basketball team, who was recently included in the Los Angeles Times’ list of “Girls Basketball Teams to Watch in the Southland.” The season starts next week for the newly-elevated D1 team, and they cannot wait to get on the court to show what they can do.
