Stephen Chan directs the Middle School which encompasses Grades Six through Eight. He has also served as the Middle School Coordinator of Diversity and Inclusion and the Chair of Divisional Diversity Coordinators. He previously served as the Head of Middle School at Laguna Blanca School and Dean of School at the Episcopal School of Los Angeles. He began his career as a Social Studies teacher at Harvard-Westlake School. In addition to his duties at Viewpoint, Stephen is the Co-Lead History Teacher for the Klingenstein Summer Institute for Early-Career Teachers, which is part of Teachers College, Columbia University. He earned a B.A. in History from Pomona College and an M.A. in African History from UCLA.
