Cathy Adelman began her career at Viewpoint School, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Teaching Credential from California State University at Northridge, in the spring of 1976 as an Assistant Kindergarten Teacher. During the next nine years, she taught both Kindergarten and First Grade, before assuming the role of Head of Lower School, overseeing Junior Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. Since 2000, Cathy has served as Head of the Primary School, where she continues to foster the growth and development of our youngest students. Throughout her tenure, Cathy has been a driving force behind the school’s growth and success. Among her many accomplishments, Cathy received the first Teacher of the Year Award and was honored for her nearly five decades of service at the 41st Annual Benefit with the creation of the Cathy Adelman Endowment Fund for Financial Aid, Viewpoint’s very first fund dedicated to ensuring access for our youngest students, fulfilling a lifelong dream of Cathy’s to herald the importance of early childhood education.
