Viewpoint prides itself on being a safe campus, thoroughly prepared for emergency circumstances. The School maintains a comprehensive Emergency Plan to ensure the safety of its students, faculty, and staff in the event of a disaster such as a fire, an earthquake, or a campus emergency or threat. We developed this Emergency Plan with the guidance of the local Sheriff’s and Fire Departments.
The Plan follows the guidelines on national preparedness efforts recommended by the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Education, and encompasses the five mission areas of prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery. Viewpoint School takes an all-hazard approach in its emergency management.
The School has three Registered Nurses and two certified Emergency Medical Technicians on the Health and Safety staff during the day, which are available to address most medical incidents and emergencies. The School also maintains a 24-hour Campus Safety Department.
