About the Program
Viewpoint’s College Counseling Office assists students and their families in preparing for the years that follow high school. With three full-time college counselors, the College Counseling Office is committed to a highly individualized and comprehensive approach to college counseling. All Viewpoint students are empowered to take charge of their college search process, with the assistance of supportive parents, a dedicated faculty, and a strong college counseling program. When students work productively with their “team,” they maximize the chance that they will be happy with their college choices.

The goal of Viewpoint’s College Counseling program is to help students discover the schools that are the right fit for their academic needs and interests. There are hundreds of colleges that are great choices for students when they determine the criteria that are important to them. The recipe for success is actually quite simple: Success in the college admission process will come to those who engage in deep self-reflection, commit to presenting themselves effectively through the application, and keep an open mind about their options.

This section will help students and families navigate the college search and application process. The links, timelines, calendars, and resources included here provide an overview of the program at Viewpoint School and some helpful resources. But, the cornerstone of our program is individualized counseling, and Viewpoint’s college counselors are available for guidance and support through every step of the process.
College Counseling Philosophy
As students:
  • Engage in self-reflection
  • Maintain realistic expectations
  • Build productive relationships
  • Conduct sound research, and
  • Complete paperwork on time
They become empowered to take responsibility for their own college admission process and maximize their success. Viewpoint’s college counseling program is designed to help students meet these goals.
