Viewpoint School’s Summer Program is pleased to offer a wide array of academic, athletic, and enrichment activities for the summer of 2012. Full camp/course descriptions and online registration will be available in early March. In the meantime, we are pleased to provide this brief overview of next summer’s offerings:
Camp Roadrunner (Rising First through Sixth Graders): This legendary camp features six weeks of special activities, sports, and recreational outings. Children benefit from carefully crafted workshops and a seemingly endless variety of themed parties and field trips. More importantly, children develop friendships with teachers, counselors, and other students that last long after summer ends.
- Kindergarten Readiness Program: For Viewpoint’s youngest and newest students, this unique introduction to Camp Roadrunner emphasizes academic enrichment, socialization, and familiarization with the kindergarten classrooms.
- Counselor-In-Training Program (rising Seventh Graders through students who are 15 years of age): One of the things that makes Camp Roadrunner such a huge success with children and parents alike is our Camp Counselors. Our C.I.T program is the perfect vehicle for developing leadership and organizational skills in Viewpoint students.
New this year: Camp Bobcat (Rising Firsth through Fifth Grades): This year, Viewpoint School will offer a new three-week, full-day camp after Camp Roadrunner ends. Camp Bobcat will offer a variety of exciting workshops for first through fifth graders, which may include Lego robotics, ceramics, cartoon drawing, watercolors/painting, “edible experiments,” mask-making, weaving, jewerly making, sportsworld, inventor’s workshop, martial arts, cooking, beadwork, origami, magic, stop-motion animation, and much more. Come join us in August for a fun, unforgettable summer experience.
Patriot Academic Club (Rising Fifth and Sixth Graders): “The PAC” is a half-day, six-week program designed to help students improve their language arts and mathematics skills as they prepare for Middle School.
New this year: The Viewpoint Summer Arts Institute: Children of Middle School and Upper School age will love the opportunity to expand their artistic horizons with our new Summer Arts Institute. Enrichment classes in Acting, String Instruction, Dance, and Visual Arts will be given in three week sessions.
Jr. Science Camp (Rising First through Fifth Graders): Four fabulous days of science exploration and experimentation. Don’t miss out on this enormously popular journey through the world of physical, life, and earth sciences!
New this year: Middle School Science Camp (Rising Sixth through Eighth Graders): Science explorations for Middle Schoolers.
Swim Lessons and Stroke Clinic (Rising Kindergartners through Fifth graders): Young swimmers of all abilities can learn new strokes while discovering why the Viewpoint swim teams are so successful year after year.
Sports Camps (Rising Third through Eighth graders): Viewpoint is pleased to be able to offer sports camps run by some of our outstanding coaches. Baseball, Basketball (Boys and Girls), Cheerleading, Cross Country (Boys and Girls), Football, Lacrosse, Soccer (Boys and Girls), and Volleyball (Boys and Girls) will be offered. In addition, a Speed and Conditioning Camp that will benefit all athletes – regardless of sport – will be offered.
New this year: Summer School (Rising Ninth through Twelfth Graders): Viewpoint is proud to offer UC-approved, for-credit courses to Viewpoint and non-Viewpoint students alike.
Please check back to this page often in the coming months for announcements and additional offerings. It may be winter now, but our minds are clearly on summer – an exciting and enriching Viewpoint Summer!
Sincerely,
Greg Courter
