| The Chess Club meets regularly throughout the year and is open to all Middle School students. The annual chess tournament is immensely popular on the Middle School campus, and the competition, while polite, is definitely most spirited. Players of all abilities and experience levels are welcome. |

| French language students and those who are just fans of French culture meet periodically to view films, practice speaking, share French culinary treats, etc. French Club participants often put on cultural displays and mini-fairs for the Middle School community in general. |

| Budding rock stars congregate each Friday by the pool steps to trade riffs and compare styles. The Guitar Club is open to beginners and experts alike, and it is also well attended by fans as well as musicians. |

| The Math Mentors program is a long-standing tradition at Viewpoint. Upper School girls mentor Seventh and Eighth Grade girls through a variety of activities designed to enhance an understanding of mathematics. Students get together for social activities, including a sleepover, and they meet regularly for tutorial sessions. |

| The Mock Trial program consists of an elective class and also a performance aspect as our students take part in the Constitutional Rights Foundation’s Mock Trial November program in downtown Los Angeles. Students learn about all aspects of litigation and court protocol, serving as attorneys, witnesses, clerks, bailiffs, courtroom artists, etc. Mock Trial is open to those students who qualify through tryouts in the spring of each school year. |

| The NFL Club is for students who enjoy watching professional football and who think they’ve got what it takes to be a general manager some day. Students conduct drafts, make trades, make weekly predictions, and analyze player performance. Bragging rights are always the only stakes. |

| Based on speeches and campaigns, the Middle School elects student officers each semester to serve as their Student Council. The Student Council is comprised of a President, a Vice President, a Secretary, and a Treasurer who represent the entire student body. In addition, each grade level chooses a Senator, and each Homeroom a Representative. Members of the Student Council meet weekly to plan events and discuss issues to improve the quality of student life. The Student Council also works to raise funds to support philanthropic causes on behalf of the Middle School. |

| Die-hard fans of the groundbreaking television series meet weekly during lunch to view and discuss classic episodes. |

The Writer’s Club is open to all students who want to spend some time refining their craft. Several English teachers “host” Friday after-school sessions and serve as mentors to students needing help on assignments or personal writing projects. |

| Invites students with an interest in animation to meet at lunchtime. |

| This club provides an arena in which students can discuss various forms of literature in ways that make it meaningful for them. Students meet once per rotation to read together, to discuss the past week's reading, and to participate in interactive games such as trivia. The group discusses everything from book covers to characters. |

| This club provides an inspiring creative outlet for students. Members view and discuss cinematic masterpieces such as Singin' In The Rain, Yankee Doodle Dandy, The Ox-Bow Incident, The 400 Blows, Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times, and Buster Keaton’s The Balloonatic. The club encourages members to write short-scripts and to use the club as a writer’s workshop. In addition, each member can present a self-chosen film to the group. The long-term goals of the club include making films and starting a film festival. |

| Annual activity in which Sixth Graders learn manners and etiquette, how to dance, and how to be courteous to members of the opposite sex. The event culminates with a dance for students and parents. |

| The School holds two dances for Seventh and Eighth Graders during the school year: the Back-to-School Dance the and the End of the Year Dance. |

| This club is for knitters of all levels -- experienced to beginners. At weekly meetings students learn new knitting techniques, share patterns, teach knitting to beginners, and admire each other's work. Many of the members are working on projects that will be donated to charities. |

| This club celebrates diversity and enhances cultural awareness. Members share different ethnic foods, watch clips from topical films, welcome guest speakers, and discuss various issues pertaining to the benefits of diversity in our School and in our culture in general. |

| In this club, students will meet at lunchtime to play ping-pong. |

| Members learn the science and physics behind model rocketry by designing, building, and safely launching model rockets. This is a lunchtime activity that meets once a week. Launches are held in the desert twice a year. |

| Middle Schoolers participate in an off-campus retreat in the Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Grades. |
