DAILY BULLETIN: DAY 3, WEDNESDAY, MAY 16, 2012

All Middle School
Tomorrow is a Day 4. Students will enjoy the first of two Talent Show performances this week. Students may wear their regular daily uniform- no Assembly Dress required. Enjoy the performances!

All Middle School
The Fletcher Family Library will be closed today, Wednesday, May 16 from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for AP Testing. Please remember to be quiet when using the areas surrounding the Library during that time. Thank you for your consideration and understanding.
All Middle School The Fashion Club will meet today, during lunch, in Mrs. Hazama’s room. Please join us for games and prizes.

All Middle School The Information Technology Department will be clearing all the material from the network folders of all Viewpoint students on June 16. Should you have any digital files on the Viewpoint network that you would like to keep, please do so. Continuing students will find the network folders empty in the fall. Seniors will find that their accounts will be disabled entirely after graduation and that their Viewpoint e-mail addresses will be discontinued. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

All Middle School The list of accepted C.I.T.s (Counselors In Training) for this summer’s Camp Roadrunner will be posted on the bulletin board outside the
Middle School Office today at lunch. C.I.T.s must pick up a medical release form from the Middle School Office and return it to Ms. Johnson in the lobby of the Academic Hall. If you have any questions, you can contact Mrs. Rolniak, Mrs. Antoine, or Mr. Courter. We are looking forward to a great summer.

All Sixth and Seventh Grade
Elective forms are due to the Middle School Office by the end of this week. The form must be signed by you, a parent, and a Middle School Administrator. If you missed your scheduled Academic Advising appointment, please see Mr. A., Ms. Rossall, Ms. Fox, or Ms. James ASAP. In order to ensure that you get your top choices, please make sure to return your forms before the end of the school day on Friday, May 18.

All Eighth Grade If you plan to attend the Eighth Grade Dance on Friday, May 18, please turn in your signed permission slip and $5 to the Middle School Office. If you have any questions please see Ms. Fox.

All Eighth Grade All Middle School graduation singers have rehearsal Thursday and Friday of this week in room 504 during lunch.

All Sixth Grade This week, during your SSO classes, you will participate in DEAR. Please bring a book or an ereader with you to class.
Alice In Wonderland Cast If you didn’t receive a cast picture, or you would like to order a DVD, please see Ms. Kakassy.
Talent Show Participants There is a mandatory dress rehearsal today, after school, at 3:00 p.m. in the Carlson Family Theater. Don’t forget to wear the outfit you plan on performing in for the show. If you have any questions please see Ms. Fox.

Upper School
DAILY BULLETIN: THURSDAY, MAY 17, 2012- DAY 4

• Students should report to the Carlson Family Theater today (Thursday) for the Film Assembly at 9:44 a.m. Please go directly to the theater following H block.

• Seniors: Don’t forget about your mandatory meeting today (Thursday) during lunch in the Black Box Theater. Lunch will be provided. See you all there!

• Please come out and cheer on the Varsity Softball team as they take on Avalon today (Thursday) in their 1st Round CIF playoff game. The game is right up the street at Calabasas High School at 3:30 p.m.

• Students who would be interested in participating in an extracurricular creative writing group next year are invited to share their ideas for such a group at a meeting during lunch tomorrow (Friday).

• Come celebrate the installation of Viewpoint’s 2012 Time Capsule during lunch (12:15-1:00 p.m.) tomorrow (Friday). There will be a brief ceremony on the Upper School Plaza (with cake to follow!). The Time Capsule will not be opened until 2037- come watch a bit of School history being saved for future Viewpoint students!

• Join us tomorrow (Friday) for the next Model UN Meeting during Club Period in Room 621. Students who have not attended previous meetings are encouraged to stop by to learn more about Viewpoint’s Model UN program.

• Juniors and seniors: If you have not submitted your prom paperwork, please do so as soon as possible! Please give the permission form to Ms. Ferdman in the Upper School Office.

• Attention all students: Don’t forget that if you wish to run for a position on the 2012-2013 Student Council Executive Board the Intent to Run Form and a draft of the speech are due by 4:00 p.m. tomorrow (Friday). This is not a flexible deadline.

• Seniors: Senior Transition Night will take place on Monday, May 21. Senior Transition Night is an opportunity to discuss the practical as well as social and emotional challenges you may face during this transition in your life. You will be provided with practical ideas about how to approach the college years. Join your classmates and parents for dessert from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. on the Marafino Family Terrace. Following will be a student program featuring Viewpoint Alumni: Chris J. (NYU), Shayan Z. (Tulane), Joe C. (Miami University-Ohio) Gabriella C. (UC San Diego), and Brittany B. (Pepperdine) from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Fletcher Family Library. Your parents will meet with Dr. Judi Biggs Garbuio, USC Associate Dean of Students, in the Carlson Family Theater.

• Attention All Students Interested in the Global Scholars Program: There will be an informational meeting about the program requirements during lunch on Wednesday, May 23. Learn about the Global Experience Requirement as well as the Application Process. All interested students are welcome.

• Lost and Found is on display this week in the Upper School Plaza. Students should check both the Upper School and Middle School for their items. As of today, all items are up-for-grabs and on Friday morning, all remaining items will be donated.

• Juniors: Please meet with your college counselor before summer vacation. We want to hear about any recent college visits, review your senior course selections, and discuss next steps for researching colleges, completing applications, and campus visits. Please e-mail your counselor to set up a meeting.

• Sophomores: Please be sure to register on Naviance Family Connection using the materials distributed on Sophomore Family College Night. We will communicate with you via e-mail in Family Connection, and you don’t want to miss important information and reminders from our office. Also, if you would like to meet with your counselor before summer vacation, feel free to schedule a meeting.

• Attendance Policy during AP Exams: Students who have morning AP examinations are excused from the previous afternoon’s classes. Students who have an afternoon examination are excused from any morning classes that day. Students must return to school for afternoon classes after morning exams unless they have another examination the following morning.

• AP Exam Schedule: Listed below are the dates, times, and locations for upcoming AP exams. When you see signs posted that an AP Exam is In Progress, please be considerate of your classmates and keep that area as quiet as possible.
