“What makes a story a fairy tale?” This was the question posed by the performers in the Third Grade’s charming production of the Once Upon A Time. Their answer: Stories that are written for children with a touch of magic.
Each year, the Third Graders take the audience on a magical journey through some of Disney’s most beloved stories. Using song and narrative, the children—dressed in fantastic costumes—tell the beloved old tales of Snow White and Seven Dwarves, Pinocchio, Mary Poppins, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, The Jungle Book, and the new favorite, The Lion King.
The Second Graders brought their own magic to the stage of the Carlson Family Theater with their enchanting production of the Wizard of Oz. The audience delighted in hearing the many wonderful songs as they traveled from a farm in Kansas to Munchkinland and the Emerald City and back with Dorothy, Toto, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, and the other characters that live over the rainbow.
In each production the children learned the importance of believing in yourself, taking care of your friends, and the magic of make believe.
