In September 2011 Viewpoint School completed the last, major phase of constructing its campus Master Plan. The Capital Campaign to raise funds for this construction was called Building Inspiration, which reflected our desire to inspire our students and faculty with state-of-the-art facilities and to create structures that are as inspiring as the scenic campus that we enjoy every day.
Building Inspiration funded construction of the new Upper School Academic Center, Paul Family Athletic Center, and competition Swimming Pool for Middle and Upper School students. These state-of-the-art facilities will greatly enhance our academic and athletic programs with:
- 24 classrooms, including two language labs
- 6 science labs
- 4 fine arts studios
- The Kitchins’ Kitchen (a food service center for Middle and Upper Schoolers)
- A double-court gymnasium, 50% larger than the current gym with seating capacity for nearly 1,000 people, in the new Paul Family Athletic Center
- A fitness center, multisport room, and locker rooms
- A seven-lane competition pool
These facilities were designed by Jeffrey Kalban & Associates, the same architect who conceived the Gates Academic Center, Carlson Family Theater, and the Academic Hall. These new buildings complement and continue the aesthetic of Viewpoint's modern buildings. Their orientation toward the center of our campus effectively shifts the transit pattern of our students to the walkways and plazas that line our year-round creek. |
