Athletics

From the Athletic Director

Welcome
Primary School
Lower School
Middle School
Upper School

Viewpoint School has embraced the concept that athletics plays a meaningful and necessary role in the overall education of the child. The notion that a solid athletic program can complement a strong academic curriculum is one that has inspired us to provide our students with many ways to wear Viewpoint's colors proudly.

Indeed, the concepts that children learn in team sports provide a solid base upon which our athletes can prepare for the rigors and challenges of the future. Viewpoint School is proud of the variety of sports and many levels that we offer. From Lower School to Upper School, our students can get a taste of competition at the level best suited to them.

Our student-athletes learn to develop important character traits such as commitment, loyalty, integrity, respect for others and themselves, and an appreciation for the benefits of hard work. The environment in which these traits are promoted and developed is designed to accommodate the less experienced and to challenge our very best athletes. Inevitably, they emerge from the process as confident young people capable of making intelligent decisions and gracefully accepting the consequences. They will have experienced victory and defeat, the camaraderie of the team, the benefits of cooperation, and the passion and joy of competition.

Viewpoint School is proud of the talented and experienced coaching staff, which guides our students through this journey. They are motivated by their passion and driven by the challenge. Teachers first, tacticians second, they are committed to making the athletic experience a fun and successful one for their students. Along with our athletes, the coaches have helped establish the athletic program as a great source of pride for Viewpoint School.

Mission Statement
The mission of Viewpoint School's Athletic Program is to prepare student-athletes to practice ethical behavior, including sportsmanship, integrity, and obedience to rules. All athletic contests will represent in perception and in practice the appreciation for athletic excellence and the shared educational experience of competition. All individuals associated with athletic activities will be aware of and responsible for their influence on the behavior of others and be models of good sportsmanship.
